With the popularity of genealogical research plus the advent of smart phones, Sewickley Cemetery has teamed up with two technology companies to bring family history, local history, GPS navigation and legacy keeping together in a whole new way.
Thanks to the work of webCemeteries, our database is now searchable online. In addition, the cemetery recently launched a new interactive searchable map on our web site where visitors can search for ancestors and loved ones and view a map to assist in locating their graves. The map includes GPS navigation to each space as well as 360-degree views of the surrounding area, thanks to the work of Cemetery360, who filmed the views using advanced technological equipment. You can also create Memorial Pages through the cemetery web site, where pictures and stories of ancestors can be recorded and shared, thereby further preserving the history of our community.
Start your own search below. If you are physically present in the cemetery with a smart phone, you can do this searching through our web site on your phone, and your phone’s GPS will lead you to within 10 feet of the grave you are seeking. Your phone can also lead you through tours of the gravesites of some of the prominent settlers of the Sewickley Valley.
